Bathroom

We found the bathroom painted minty green with vinyl floor in shades of white, green, and tan. The picture is kind of dark, but the color really is fairly light and minty.

This presented somewhat of a problem, as all our towels and bathroom things are yellow, navy blue, and red. We're currently using the yellow and navy blue as they are least offensive.

I'd like to have sort of a "spa" look for the bathroom overall. To this end, I found a really nice white waffle weave shower curtain at Home Goods.

I also really love the pedestal sink. With the right accessories (read: not these) I think it will work with the theme.

I'm wanting to buy new towels and a rug that will fit better with this theme. I've been going back and forth between a tan or taupe color and a greenish color that is close to the color of the checks in the floor. I think these in Eucalyptus or Silver Sage might look nice (depends on how they actually are in the room), but I don't really want to spend a fortune on Restoration Hardware towels. We could paint and remove the mint from the equation, but I think we're stuck with the floor for a while.

Living Room Repaint

Here are a few before- and after-painting shots of the living room.

The original wall color is "Covered Wagon." Ummm, brown.

Another shot of the brown living room. You can see a test patch of the new paint color above Craig's head. Behind him is the bare wall where our bookcases are going to go.

Detail of the lovely brown color and the ceiling moulding.

Here's the room after painting. The picture may not show it well, but the overall feel of the room is much lighter. We will be getting a large oak armoire to hold the tv and other various electronics, so we can shut the door and hide them if need be.

Detail of the new wall color. On the walls is Ellen Kennon's "Honeysuckle." The moulding around the ceiling is a slightly lighter color, "Buttercream."
